Bloogleberry - Small, round berry. Hardens when dried out. Crowdad's favorite slingshot projectile.
Blue jungle - Dense rain forest region to the north, inhabited by a fierce cannibal tribe.

Bwata - No good, useless, garbage
Canooa - Canoe or outrigger
Caved, or Get caved - Tubed, in the pocket
Cheewoga - Dino crap, or a whole lotta nothin'
Coil - Wave, breaker
Coral corral - Deep lagoon in the cove protected by the outer reefs.
Cowrie - Popular shell for trinkets. Slang word for sissy.
Crinoid - Tentacled sea plant. Legendary giant specimens adapted to land have been rumored to exist, but are rarely encountered. Allegedly flesh-eaters, mostly smaller lizards.
Crowdad - Menacing and inter-fuedal tribe populating the cove jungle to the north of the cove. Small but agile tree climbers, vicious hunters, and thieves. Pack mentality with an intense dislike for the sea.
Cruise coil - Surf, ride the waves.
Dactyl - Any of the large flying reptiles ( pteranodons, dimorphodons, rhamphorhynchus, etc. )
Dish-A-Cuddlefish - A good looking sheela.
Eat Reef - Wipe out, take gas on a coil.
Eeko - Here you go. A term called out by the sheelas when flipping gill to the tide pools.
Elasmosaurus - Monstrous, long-necked sea beast. Nearly extinct.
Exoticolo - Describes something unusually cool or happening. Mysterioso.
Fin - Fossilized section from the back of a dimetrodon once used as shields by the Trog clan, but are now used as surfboards.
Finback - Dimetrodon, one of the sail-backed dinosaurs.with a large, spined fin across its back.
Finkadon - A snitch, or to snitch on.
Fish - Slang for sheela. Abbreviated version of dish-a -cuddlefish.
Gill - Prehistoric jawless fish; favorite food of the Trog clan.
Gizzards - Entrails left over after cleaning gill.
Goonasaur - New coiler who is just learning. Dork.
Gremmie - Young coiler who thinks they're hotter than they really are. Usually a pain out on the coil.
Groll - God of the coil. (surf)
Gunkalua - Krim's favorite expression to voice his disapproval.
Heavies - Big coils (waves).
Ickthy - Ichthyosaur. Sea wolf that, on average, grows to a length of 15 feet. A few have been spotted in the open sea as large as 40 feet. They look like a cross between a shark and a dolphin possessing a long snout loaded with razor-sharp teeth. Devastating in packs.
Inland valley - Vast, cooled lava flow that surrounds the base of Kontraka, the towering volcano. It was once the home of the Trog clan. Now it is a barren graveyard of sand and rock.
Juice - Spiritual flow, mana, power within the clan.
Kayo - Okay.
Kick sand - Dance with heightened emotion to the upbeat rhythms of dactyl-wing congas.
Kontraka - Grand volcano towering over the inland valley. Once worshipped as the cloud-rimmed home of the gods by the Trog clan. The new Trogway has abandoned this belief.
Kookapod - Goofy or nutty. Acting crazy.
Koo-wah - Group singing without lyrics other than the sound of "koo-wah". Coffee house-ish.
Lava - Slang word to describe someone or something that is great, but not the ultimate.
Leila - Flowery wreath. Lei.
Lizzie - lizard skin wrap worn by the sheelas.
Lizzie kilt - Striped wrap worn around the waist by the Trogs.
Lunka - Stupid, idiotic, ridiculous, moronic, brainless, etc.
Makanoa - God of the deep.
Mamasapien - Sheela
Mava oil - Spicy scented oil derived from the mava root. Highly flammable. Used for torches.
Meemoo - Struthiomimus. Ostrich-like dinosaurs that inhabit the cove jungle.
Meganeuron - Giant prehistoric dragonfly.
Molten - Super great, hot, the ultimate.
Moranka - God of the land.
Mooky doo - Mooky's dolloped "gifts' that Krim has trouble avoiding with his bare feet.
Nautiloid - Tentacled mollusk inhabitant of the coral corral. Its body is protected by a long, pointed shell, whereas the coiled nautiloid has a coiled shell. Giant nautiloids still find their way into the cove waters, drawn by the abundance of reef fish present, but have been known to seek larger prey.
Neandu - Neanduhthal territory to the north of the blue jungle. Rocky outcroppings and extensive, multi-level cliff dwellings crowd this coastal area. The Neandu marketplace has long been the center of regional trade, with the Neanduhthals taking a healthy cut from all transactions.
Neanduhthal - Well-established tribe of Neandu. Strong-armed, thug-like policies have proven successful over the years, placing this prehistoric empire in a position of unquestionable power. Conquerors and elitists who maintain a stranglehold on local trade.
Nepto - Water-happy fool. One who enjoys the sea.
Padoinga - Pear-shaped, banana-like fruit.
Periwinkle - Small, colorful shells used by the Trogs for trade and making trinkets.
Plumquat - Juicy, tart fruit, normally purple or red in color.
Poolie - Demeaning term for the gill cleaners who work from the safety of the tide pool rocks. All trogpoles and sheelahinis do their time on the rocks before they can become eligible to work on the coil or in the coral corral.
Rack - A set of coils (waves) rolling in.
Reptilian raider - Nomadic tribe of savage crossbreeds. Half human, half reptile, and all brutal warrior, this freakish band of cutthroats continues to grow in number and feared reputation. They primarily roam the inland valley, mounting raids on coastal camps and villages, then disappearing as swiftly as they struck back into the barren lands of Kontraka.
Rockdog - Amphibious species of the diplocaulus family. Powerful tails and streamlined bodies allow them to maneuver quickly through the water. They use their boomerang-shaped heads and sharp claws to crush and open shellfish, which are their main source of food, as well as gill. Once considered a nuisance and potential source of food to the early Trog settlers in the cove, they now work in tandem with the clan, serving as underwater sheepdogs steering schools of gill into the coral corral.
Rootaga - Edible mush made from ground up roots.
Sea scorpion - Poisonous hazard of the cove waters. Varying in length from 2 to 5 feet, slow moving but aggressive, and most stings result in paralysis followed by a complete collapse of the victim's respiratory system. Nasty way to go.
Shakalo - Equivalent to "Oh crap!" or "I'm screwed" in a desperate situation.
Sheelahini - Young sheela, not fully matured.
Sheelascopes - Krim's constant day dreams about sheelas, who are fully matured.
Skink whistle - One of Ding's musical inventions created from a dried and hollowed out skink.
Soup - White water from breaking coils.
Stone blade - A knife crafted and honed from stone with a vine-wrapped hilt.
Sway - Slow, back to back, revolving dance. An ancient Trog mating ritual that only permits the dancing couple to face one another after the cavemating ceremony has been performed by a chief or high priest.
T-Rexified - Scared stiff.
Trogpole - Young trog, not fully matured.
Trogway - Tribal laws and customs practiced by the Trog clan, modernized to encompass their relatively new way of life that is dependent upon the sea.
Wiama - Goddess of the sky.
